Various preparations must be made by couples who want to get married, especially regarding the documents. There are also a number of conditions that must be fulfilled so that the marriage can be held smoothly.
Well, for the marriage of fellow Indonesian citizens (WNI), the preparation may be relatively short and easy because the various requirements are not too complicated.
However, for married couples of different countries (Indonesian citizens and foreigners), a number of requirements requested will be a little more complicated and require considerable time to prepare. This is because various documents from both countries are needed.
The arrangement of various documents for mixed marriage will require a considerable amount of time, depending on the performance of the embassy and other immigration matters.
Therefore, various documents must be completed before taking care of other needs that can be done in a short time.
1. Document for Foreigner:
- CNI (Certificate of No Impediment), a certificate stating that a person can marry and will marry Indonesian citizen. This letter was issued by the competent agency in their country, such as an embassy
- Copy of citizenship card from the future husband or wife country of origin
- Copy of passport
- Copy of birth certificate
- Certificate that state not in married status
- Divorce certificate if you have married before
- Death certificate of your married couple had passed away
- Current domicile certificate
- Photos of 2 × 3 (4 pieces) and 4 × 6 (4 pieces)
- For marriages at KUA, you must enclose statement of converts if you were previously non-Muslim
The required documents to get CNI from the embassy
- Latest birth certificate (original)
- Copy of identity card (KTP) from the country of origin
- Copy of passport
- Proof of residence or domicile letter (can be a copy of telephone or electricity bill)
- A form of marriage from the embassy concerned
Well, all the letters must be translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator. Then it was legalized by the embassy of the foreigner’s country in Indonesia.
2. Documents for Indonesian Citizen:
- A recommendation letter from RT / RW stating that there is no matters to getting married.
- The N1, N2 and N4 forms from the village and district
- Special N3 form who will marry at KUA (bride agreement letter which must be signed by both the bride and groom)
- Copy of ID card
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Data of the bride and groom's parents
- Copy of Family Card (KK)
- Parent's marriage book (only if you are the first child)
- Data of two marriage witnesses and copies of their identity card
- Photos of 2 × 3 (4 pieces) and 4 × 6 (4 pieces)
- Proof of the latest PBB payment (Land Building Tax)
- Prenuptial agreement
Documents of Indonesian Citizen that will be requested by foreign embassy:
- Original and copy of birth certificate
- Copy of identity card (KTP)
- Copy of N1, N2 and N4 letters from the village office
- Copy of prenuptial agreement
Before submitting all of those required documents to the embassy, it would be better to make a copy of all the documents as reserve.It is because the embassy will not return yout documents back.
After all of those requirements have been completed, the next step is waiting for further information from the embassy.
